I went through an intense period of insomnia during this pandemic, sleeping between 2-4 hours a night for about 3 months. Lying in bed for 8-10 hours was the worst part, and you feel like you're taking short naps throughout the night. I started to fear going to sleep, and it took a long while to realize that it was my fear of sleeping (or lack thereof) that made the insomnia worse.

Once I completely and fully let go of that fear, and really internalized the notion of "I don't care how much sleep I get," I started sleeping "like a stone" and I'm happy to say that my insomnia has passed, though if it returns, I wouldn't worry about it, for it will pass as quickly as it came.

Thanks for writing this.
